The deceased of a mother aged 34 and her 10-year-old daughter have been located inside freezing appliances in an flat in the western part of Austria.

The deceased, a Syrian woman and her child, who had been unaccounted for for a number of months, were uncovered on the end of last week. The cooling units were concealed behind a drywall partition in the apartment, situated in the city of Innsbruck.

The two suspects removed the freezer from the facility on the very day the mother and daughter disappeared, Tersch said. And a week later, they purchased a second unit.

Authorities state they think this indicates the deaths were intentionally orchestrated.

"The cause of death remains unclear due to the condition of the remains," the official said.

A legal representative—from the legal authorities—noted the precise timeline is still unclear, but the victims were carefully placed and were not found during a earlier inspection.

Although the suspects were arrested in June, it was not until November 12 that the 55-year-old confessed to an event and to storing the victims. He rejects any intent to kill, investigators confirmed.

At the same time, his younger brother acknowledged a concealment but denied knowledge of a homicide.
